Qualifications and Training

Dr Stephen Eppel completed a Urology Registrar-ship at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg and is registered with the Health Professional Council of South Africa as a Specialist Urologist. He also completed a Urology Residency in Memphis Tennessee and Neurourology Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston Texas. He is certified by the American Board of Urology.

Academic

He has held the positions of Assistant Professor of Urology at the University of Minnesota, in Minneapolis; Director of Neurourology Services at the VA Medical Center, Minneapolis; Assistant Professor of Urology at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. He has published in several peer reviewed journals, and given presentations at national and international scientific meetings.

Private Practice and Experience

Dr Eppel spent 13years as a partner with SouthEast Urology Network in Memphis, TN, before returning to South Africa. The practice was large and successful with excellent patient satisfaction and outcomes. His experience encompassed the full range of Urological Conditions, although he has developed a special interest and expertise in certain areas. He has been in private practice at the Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital in Cape Town since 2006.
